Case study · Multi-location healthcare
MedCare Clinics SEO case study.
One healthcare network became easier to find across many local searches.
MedCare Clinics operates medical centres across multiple Ontario communities. Each location can have different services, providers, hours and patient needs, so a small set of general corporate pages could not represent the network well.
Webbies developed a connected structure of clinic, service and regional content so useful search destinations could grow with the organization instead of becoming duplicated city pages.
The starting point
A growing clinic network needed a search structure that could grow with it.
People do not search for a healthcare network in only one way. They may be looking for a walk-in clinic, a family doctor accepting new patients, blood testing, a medical service or a nearby clinic that offers what they need.
For MedCare Clinics, those searches had to connect to accurate, useful destinations while the website continued to support established locations, newer clinics and changing service availability.
- Multi-location network
- Medical centres across multiple Ontario communities.
- Different local needs
- Services, providers, hours and patient needs can vary by location.
- Different search journeys
- Clinic, service and regional intent needed distinct, useful destinations.
The constraint: expand visibility without turning the site into repeated location pages with only the city name changed.
What we found
One corporate website had to answer many different patient searches.
The challenge was not simply to publish more pages. The website needed clear roles for clinics, services and regional information so search engines and visitors could understand which destination was relevant.
General pages could not represent every location
A network with different services, providers and hours needed more precise destinations than a small set of broad corporate pages.
Local intent needed genuinely distinct pages
Regional relevance had to come from useful local information rather than repeating the same copy for different communities.
Clinic and service information needed stronger connections
Related pages had to work together so someone could move naturally between a healthcare need, a suitable location and the appropriate next action.
The structure had to remain scalable
New clinics and changing services needed to fit into the same system without creating disconnected sections or unnecessary duplication.
One connected multi-location search system
Clinic, service and regional content were organized around clear patient journeys.
Webbies treated the website architecture, content structure, internal links and search optimization as one system. Each page needed a clear job and a useful relationship to the rest of the network.
What changed
The site became a more useful bridge between healthcare searches and the right destination.
Give each page type a clear role
Clinic, service and regional pages were organized around distinct search and patient needs instead of competing with one another.
Connect related information
Internal relationships were strengthened so services, clinics and supporting information could reinforce each other.
Build real local relevance
Regional content was developed around what was actually different and useful in each market rather than relying on city-name substitutions.
Use performance data to refine the system
Search-performance data helped identify where visibility was expanding and where the structure still had room to improve.
The goal was not simply to create more healthcare pages. It was to make a larger clinic network easier to understand, navigate and discover through search.
Documented growth
Search visibility grew substantially across the clinic network.
First-party Search Console data documents the performance increase. The July 2026 SEMrush snapshot below provides supporting context for the broader organic traffic and ranking footprint.
Monthly Google Search clicks increased from approximately 3,850 in the original reporting period to 9,770 in May 2026. Monthly impressions increased from approximately 109,000 to 435,000 over the same comparison.
The July 2026 SEMrush snapshot estimates 19,110 monthly organic visits and 13,057 ranking keywords, showing that the broader visibility trend continued beyond the earlier reporting period.
Search Console figures are first-party search-performance data. SEMrush figures are third-party estimates. Complete appointment, call and revenue attribution was not available, so those outcomes are not claimed here.
A broader search footprint
The domain expanded across far more than one clinic or one search.
The ranking footprint expanded alongside the broader organic search growth. These rankings are supporting evidence for a broader search system—not a substitute for patient or business outcomes.
Supporting search evidence
The ranking footprint became much broader as the site developed more useful search destinations.
SEMrush recorded approximately 4,743 ranking keywords in October 2025 and 13,057 in July 2026. The competitive map uses a narrower comparison set and therefore reports a different keyword count.
What the project demonstrates
Multi-location SEO worked better when every clinic, service and region had a clear job.
MedCare Clinics needed more than a collection of location pages. The useful system connected healthcare services, clinic information, regional relevance, internal links and search-performance data so the website could support many different searches without becoming repetitive or difficult to manage.
That relationship between qualified visibility, useful website architecture and scalable content is central to Webbies’ SEO & Local Search and Web Design & Development work. This work also reflects the clinic-search architecture behind our healthcare SEO services for clinics.
