Website projects and the decisions behind them

See how Webbies handled service explanations, website structure and contact routes in two projects. These examples show the work and what a visitor can inspect.

BriCargo: make a freight service easier to understand

Webbies rebuilt the Africa United Logistics website during its rebrand to BriCargo. The work organized freight services and destinations, mapped old URLs to new destinations, implemented redirects and included launch checks.

The air-freight page explains booking and pre-check, airline handling, customs coordination and final delivery. A buyer can examine how the service works before sending an enquiry.

For your project, decide which services need their own explanation, what information an enquiry should collect and which existing page addresses must be carried forward. The screens show the service layout; they do not show the redirect work or establish a measured search or enquiry result.

The Stairlift Store: explain the service and offer a useful next step

Webbies redesigned The Stairlift Store website for a clearer structure and carried out SEO work. The homepage explains purchase and installation, with routes to request a quote, call or read frequently asked questions.

The design gives a visitor ready to discuss installation a direct contact route while letting someone still researching find more information. For your website, agree those next steps before choosing the layout. The screen shows the explanation and choices, rather than a measured increase in leads or rankings.

WordPress website design and development for Burlington

We build around the content your team needs to manage and the functions your customers need to use. Agreeing those requirements first makes the pages, editing setup and development work easier to scope.

Page planning, content and custom design

We plan the service pages, landing pages, navigation and work examples around the questions customers need answered. The design then brings that structure into your brand, with desktop and mobile considered together.

Webbies can plan and write the pages included in the proposal. You confirm business facts, prices, policies and approved assets. Useful existing material can stay when it still serves the page.

WordPress editing and reusable layouts

The editing setup is agreed around the content your team needs to maintain, such as service text, photographs, project examples and articles. Reusable layouts can keep those updates consistent where they are included in the build.

A new layout, custom function or change to an integration may need development support. Handover identifies the agreed editing access and any continuing software licences.

Forms, bookings, ecommerce and integrations

An enquiry form should collect the information needed for the next action. Booking tools need the right service and appointment route. Ecommerce requires decisions about products, payments, shipping and order handling.

If systems need to connect, the scope identifies the information that moves, the required access, third-party fees and how the function will be checked. These are project requirements, rather than automatic inclusions in every website.

Mobile use, loading and accessibility

Responsive development considers readable text, usable controls, navigation and forms on smaller screens. The agreed checks can also cover keyboard use, labels, contrast, image sizes and third-party tools that affect loading.

Specific performance targets and any formal accessibility assessment need to be defined in the proposal. The scope identifies which checks Webbies will perform.

Website design in Burlington: choose the right project

A first website, a focused fix and a rebuild solve different problems. Start with the customer task, check what the existing site can still do and use the comparison below to agree the work.

First website

Evidence to check
No suitable site exists. Identify your main services, customers, launch action and available copy or images.
Possible scope
Plan the launch pages, prepare agreed content and build the required enquiry route.
Keep or check
Confirm business facts, asset permissions, domain and hosting access, and who will update the site.
Before approving the work
Which pages and functions must work at launch, and which can wait?

Focused improvement

Evidence to check
The platform and editing access work; the difficulty can be traced to a page, form or customer task.
Possible scope
Improve the identified part and check the task. Investigate any access or technical constraint first.
Keep or check
Retain useful content, URLs and working integrations; check related pages and functions.
Before approving the work
What makes this a bounded fix, and what will the quote exclude?

Reorganize an existing site

Evidence to check
Services or next steps are hard to distinguish, while the platform and some content remain suitable.
Possible scope
Plan the structure, content gaps, navigation and enquiry routes; agree what stays, merges or moves.
Keep or check
Review useful pages and search visibility before changing addresses. Retain accurate copy and relevant proof.
Before approving the work
Who prepares and approves the revised content, and which pages change?

Rebuild or migrate

Evidence to check
A rebrand, unsuitable platform or required function creates a constraint. Check if the current site can resolve it.
Possible scope
Plan the build, integrations, URL changes and launch checks; agree access and recovery arrangements.
Keep or check
Map changed URLs to appropriate destinations and check important pages, forms and customer tasks.
Before approving the work
What requires a rebuild, and how will useful content and customer tasks carry forward?

Turn a website problem into an agreed scope

Suppose customers keep asking which service they need. If the relevant page answers the question but is hard to find, a navigation change may be enough. If it combines several services without explaining who each is for, the work may need new structure and copy. A different platform becomes relevant when the current one prevents the required change.

Write down one customer task, the page or function involved, what can stay and how you will check completion. For a form, that includes confirming that the right service can be selected and that a test enquiry reaches the agreed recipient. This is a planning example, not a diagnosis of your site.

Burlington web design costs and timelines

Webbies website projects use a planning range of CAD $3,500–$12,000+, depending on scope. The bands below help you compare the work involved; your proposal confirms the actual price, inclusions and schedule.

Focused business website or redesign

Planning investmentCAD $3,500–$6,000

A clear offer, a limited set of page layouts and straightforward enquiry needs.

Broader business website

Planning investmentCAD $6,000–$12,000

Several services or audiences, deeper content, more page types or migration work.

Ecommerce or complex custom build

Planning investmentFrom CAD $12,000

Product, payment and shipping requirements, custom functions or more involved integrations.

Prices are in Canadian dollars, with applicable taxes additional. Hosting, paid software and recurring third-party fees are separate unless explicitly included in the proposal. Smaller updates are quoted for the work required.

How long will the website take?

Once content and account access are ready, smaller websites with fewer pages and a few services typically take 1–2 weeks. Broader straightforward websites or redesigns typically take 2–4 weeks under the same conditions. Large sites, complex ecommerce and custom integrations receive a project-specific schedule.

Content preparation, feedback, approvals, migration and third-party dependencies can change the work involved. Page count alone does not set the timetable; agree the delivery plan before committing to a launch date.

Compare the work behind the quote

  • Pages and content: launch pages, layouts, copy and images, including who supplies facts and approves the work.
  • Functions: forms, bookings, ecommerce or integrations, required access, third-party fees and completion checks.
  • Existing website: useful content to retain, changed URLs, redirects and launch responsibilities.
  • Handover: editing access, account control, assets, licences, renewals and backup responsibility.
  • Agreement: price and currency, applicable taxes, payment terms, milestones, dependencies and separately scoped work.

Founder involvement

Work directly with Paras on your website project

Paras Banga, founder of Webbies, stays involved in website strategy, scope and key decisions. You can discuss why a page, feature or design choice is being recommended with the person shaping that recommendation.

For Burlington projects, meetings and reviews usually happen online. In-person meetings can be arranged where appropriate. The project has agreed review and approval points, so responsibilities are clear as the work progresses.

Paras BangaFounder, Webbies
  1. Understand the business. Discuss your services, customers, current site and the action the website needs to support.

  2. Agree the scope. Set the pages, content responsibilities, functions, budget, timetable and review points.

  3. Develop and review. Bring content, design and development together. You confirm business facts and approve the agreed work.

  4. Check and hand over. Check the agreed pages, forms, customer tasks and URL changes. Confirm editing access and account responsibilities.

Website ownership, hosting and post-launch support

Your proposal and handover should identify what your team can edit, which accounts you control, who maintains the site and which costs continue.

Accounts, assets and editing access

Where practical, keep the domain, hosting and key accounts under your business’s control. Handover identifies editing access, delivered assets, licence restrictions, renewals and backup responsibility. Custom layout changes, new functions or altered integrations may need development support.

Hosting and ongoing costs

Hosting is paid to the selected provider. Ongoing maintenance can cover updates, backups and restoration, security checks, monitoring and support for a suitable site, with the work, frequency and price agreed separately.

Plan running costs with our guide to website maintenance costs in Canada. Continuing research, content and local search are separately scoped through ongoing SEO for Burlington businesses.

Thirty days of post-launch support

The agreed website project includes 30-day post-launch support for launch-related corrections and help with the agreed features. New pages, major changes, additional functionality and ongoing maintenance are separately scoped. This period does not establish a guaranteed response time.

Before your Burlington website project begins

Can we improve one part of the site instead of rebuilding it?

Yes, when the platform and existing site are suitable. We examine the page, form or customer task involved before recommending a larger project. A focused improvement is quoted for the work it needs.

Who prepares the website content?

Webbies can plan and write the pages included in the proposal. Your service information, customer questions, existing material and authorized examples give that work a reliable starting point. You confirm business facts, prices, policies and any regulated claims before publication.

Do branding and photographs need to be finished first?

Existing brand assets and suitable photographs can be reviewed during planning. Any new branding, photography or licensed imagery needs an agreed owner, scope and cost. Final assets and approvals can affect the delivery schedule.
